„….My name is Taha Shaikh. The name of my school is Holy Name High School. I am studying in Class Ten (10).
I am studying in this good school, only with the help of Prem Dan which gave me educational help.
I am staying with my grandmother (mother’s mother ) as my mother expired within few days of my birth and my father abandoned me. My brother and sister both expired during their birth. So I am the only child survived but facing many medical problems from birth till date.
My grandmother worked very hard in a fish market and also as a domestic worker to ensure I get a good nutrition and education.
At the age of three I went to seek admission to the Garden School but unfortunately at the time of interview I fainted and failed to get the admission. Luckily my mother’s childhood friend who was also a teacher of Prem Dan understood my problem and helped me to get admitted in Prem Dan School. Till the age of 7, I hardly ate food but just survived on milk alone and Prem Dan used to provide me milk and slowly the staff taught me to eat food.
As I was promoted to Class one (1) I got admission in Holy Name High School. I got all kinds of educational help from Prem Dan.
Now since my grandmother has become too old, sick and stopped working I have been taking care of her together with my studies .I have been dependant on Prem Dan for food grains which I receive monthly.
I have been provided with spectacles for my low eye sight and also I need to undergo an ear operation, but because of my weakness the doctors are not ready for the operation at present.
Prem Dan is a God’s gift for me. It helps me like my own mother. I am very thankful to Prem Dan’s Sisters, Staff ,teachers and all the benefactors.
Thankyou Prem Dan
